Our Home

We live in a log built home in Turin, Georgia. The house is a log constructed home. The main level is open and has a kitchen, dinning area, seating area, living room, master bed/bathroom, and a half bath. The stairs that lead upstairs to the loft are open steps. The loft upstairs has windows across the front side and is open to the main floor. It has a pool table, big screen, and a custom made bar. The bottom level has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an office, a full kitchen, a family room, and a laundry room. There is a wrap around porch that goes around the main level of the house. The house sits on 30 acres and has a lake behind it. It comes complete with some squirrels, a few deer, and a couple of geese.

My husband started constructing it in 2003 and moved into the house in May of 2005. We got married in May 2007 and that's when his interior decorator joined him (that's me!). He did a lot of the work and contracting himself, but had a log home company prepare and lay the logs. We have recently (Jan. 2008) started building out the lower level of the house. We plan to live her for the rest of our lives--happily!
